Pencil eyeliners are perfect for effortless, subtle definition. Eye shadow in a neutral shade in a matte or soft-sparkle finish and mascara completes your look while keeping it polished and natural.

Start with clean, dry eyelids (blot lids if oily and sweep on a bit of translucent powder, concealer or primer for the perfect base). Choose long-wearing, waterproof or transfer-resistant formulas. For liquid eye shadows and eye liners, allow product to set before layering other products.

To create a smoky eye, apply a medium eye shadow over lid, extending above the lid. Layer with a darker shadow. Blend and diffuse with a clean eye shadow brush.
